written by eighth graders at King, Longfellow, and Willard middle schools in Berkeley.
If your piece is accepted, you'll be guided through the editing process by
experienced Redwood writers and our faculty advisor.
After you’re done, your work will appear in our May issue!

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
You may submit one piece of either fiction (300-700 words) or poetry (150-250 words).
Your submission must be your own original, unpublished work. Please note that Redwood does not publish violence, sexual content, or cursing.
Please email us at redwoodberkeleyhigh@gmail.com by the March 11th deadline — pasting the following into the body of your email, and filling out all fields:
1) My first and last name:

3) My Berkeley middle school (King, Longfellow, or Willard):
4) "I'm currently in eighth grade." (Only eighth graders are eligible.) Please type "yes" to confirm:
5) My English teacher's name:
6) The kind of writing I’m submitting — either fiction (300-700 words) or poetry (150-250 words):
7) The title of my submission:
8) "If my submission is accepted, I must complete the guided editing process and meet all deadlines in order to have my piece published." Please type "yes" if you understand and agree:

Redwood has final say on all procedures and published material, though writers may remove their piece from the Redwood website at any time.
