Solitary streets, serenity
Scream silent, eyes closed
Time slows
Sleep edges in, but you don’t listen
The night is new
Now nothing can stop you,
not even her

She left long ago
Only a dream now
Her laugh dances in your memories,
slipping slowly, always around
A distant reminder of things that were

The streetlights shine
The smile on your face is true
The star-scattered sky, blackish blue
No moon tonight
Just you, the stars, and the road

The street is still warm to the touch
You lie down, eyes up
The galaxy gazes back,
worlds of wonder slip in and out
So many possibilities
and here you are

This is the world you reside in,
the world you survive in
This is your world of wonder
The future is fast arriving
You are here, she is not
And that is okay
You are here
You are here, now
Now and forever
