It hurts to stand
Alas I have woken
But my left foot stays asleep

Its tingling sensation stubborn to a point where
I would not question
My potential lack of sanity

I try everything to wake my sleeping beauty
Giving a deep clean massage worthy of approval from a high caliber client
Putting a heating pad that feels feverish when finger touched
Rolling it so many times that dizziness comes over me
Searching the interweb for “how to wake a tired foot”

I wish so badly to eat a poison apple
I am desperate enough
To kiss a frog
Lose my voice forever
Be locked in a tower

But these fairytales
Come with their own sets of
Plot insanity

So I am desperate enough to ask for help
Shall I follow the prince charming persona
Be the hero
For my . . . foot?

YES

The foot is my princess
With one timid kiss
It wakes up
